Tuxedo was returned to Shefaro on August 10, 2002, because his owner allowed him to run the streets of her home town in New Mexico. After being fined several times and threatened by neighbors and the Sheriff, his former owner had to give him up. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of him growing up over the past year. This is Tuxedo enjoying the freedom of Shefaro Park, September 2, 2002. This is a far cry from the streets of New Mexico. It's a joy to have him home.
Joy of Life!!!
Our new friend, Rick Clarkson, came to visit from Canada on September 6, 2002. He took the kids into the field for a game of fetch with a green and blue octopus. Left to right - Isabella, Rodrigo, Casanova, Guillermo, Tuxedo, Anasazi

Tuxedo left Shefaro for his new home with Teresa Mauk and Mickey on December 23, 2002. He joins their home with Borzoi Notia and Apollo. Teresa said she felt like she won the lottery getting Tuxedo! She did!!! Teresa and Mickey are one of my favorite Shefaro Borzoi extended family couples. I am proud to share Notia and Tuxedo with them.

Hi Sherry -
Tux is doing very well - he continues to relax a little more each day as he
learns the routine and us. He wagged his tail at us this morning when we
got up (we were thrilled). He knows where the door is to go outside, he
figured out that he has to sit before he gets a treat, he spotted the
neighbor's cat and chased him - he's one of the kids! He's decided that the
swimming pool is his own personal water bowl, "his" spot at night is on the
floor at the foot of our bed, he and Notia and Apollo spend most of their
time plotting how to steal one another's rawhide chewtoys, he enjoys going
for a walk, and he was tearing around the backyard earlier with Notia (so
Apollo had to join in, too). He doesn't like going in his crate when we
leave to run errands, but with a gentle push and a treat, he'll go in.
We've also seen a few puppy-like behaviors since yesterday, which is good
because it's normal: unwinding the toilet paper, getting into the trash,
chewing up a newspaper, trying to swipe a turkey breast from the counter,
nibbling on the Xmas tree, etc. Testing his limits, I think!! Ha, ha. But
we're enjoying him.
Planning to take them all over to the dog park tomorrow for a run. Hope
everyone there is doing well.
