Finishign the championship on your Shefaro Borzoi does not give you breeding rights. Vet reference and contract required. Shipping available. Microchipped, shots, wormed, on heartworm prevention. Vet exam, health cert. only if shipping.

Shefaro has top show quality puppies available to companion homes. Not all pups are still available, but I have them posted to show the quality and consistency at Shefaro. These puppies are raised in a community atmosphere on my little ranch in San Antonio, Texas. They are not kenneled and they are free to be farm dogs first meaning they live a free and happy life. They are trained with love, not shock collars. They easily adapt to other lifestyles because of the stability of temperament I have bred for years. European based bloodlines have insured the continuation of that stable temperament and integrity of my breeding program. My dogs are not at public stud and I don't sell for breeding or resale. I sell without registration as well, as I have no interest in selling to show, performance or breeding homes. Companion homes do not "need" registration. I am a breeder who values temperament first and breeds for overall quality. Temperament is everything and Shefaro Borzoi character is perfect. They live in harmony with children, dogs, cats, goats, horses, birds, etc. Shefaro Borzoi intelligence goes with their beauty as you will see on this web page. Look under "special dogs" and you will see why I prefer companion homes. Shefaro Borzoi are not pet quality, not bred as pets, but companion homes are given preference. AKC ILP registration may be available for performance events, however, I try to limit even that. I prefer that you buy your Shefaro Borzoi as a companion to grace your home and sleep on your couch! I breed for show/performance kids for myself and wonderful companions to share with others. From whelping box, to the pasture, to TV on the couch, Shefaro Borzoi are raised in happy and clean conditions, parasite free, without a care in the world. She is show quality with scissors bite and complete dentition - Lucy MAY be available to a wonderful companion home. She is show quality, but I can't keep them all. I am keeping her brothers, Freckles and Blanco.

Going to Texas, and visiting you, Sherry and your incredible dogs, was one of the highlights of my life. You gave us lots of treats, biscuits and cheese to give to the dogs and let us share in the extraordinary beauty and character of your world-famous pets. One of the main reasons I came back twice, in addition to wanting to take more time to bond with the dogs, that I was going to take with me, was to be with you and your calm and ordered beautiful environment. I am in LA and run my own large business. That speaks for itself.

I have had Borzois for twenty years and I have witnessed many types and categories of Borzoi's, therefore, I consider myself an expert. Your breed line is the best and most consistent that I have ever seen. Despite the heat of Texas, your dogs have the most amazing coats and their character is gentle and friendly. They have adapted so very well in my home. As you know they had a 16 hour trip by air being shunted back and forth because of the hurricane and Houston's refusal to take animals at the last minute. I was totally amazed at how they adapted to that too. That says a lot for the breeding Sherry and a lot for you too!!

Tigress is pictured September 29, 2005, getting her vet exam and health certificate for travel to her new home with Dee in Illinois. Her friends, Bubba (Great Pyrenees) and Cisne (Borzoi) were also getting their vet exams and health certificates for travel. Bubba goes to Gwyn in Kentucky where he will have his own herd of goats to guard. Cisne, now a retired IABCA champion, goes to Robert in CT where she will grace the couch, sleep in bed, walk in the park, and travel with Robert and his wife.

Tigress left today (Oct. 1, 2005) Dee called and all is well in IL. Tigress already tried to eat from the dessert plate on the coffee table.

Here's a quick picture of Tigress in her new home. She's doing great! Housetraining is going well. She didn't even wake me up last night to go out. She's had a little difficulty with the steps but is now getting up and down even the big flight fairly well. Yesterday we walked a couple of miles. She had a ball catching grasshoppers. The girls love her and she's fitting right in. We just need to convince her that the cats live here and are not for her to chase. I'm sure that will come soon. We start puppy class tomorrow evening. Everyone at the vet's office is excited to meet her. I'll send more pictures soon.

Just a note to let you know that we totally love Tigress. What a honey!!! I am sold on Borzois and on Shefaro in particular. She is everything you said and better--beautiful and just as sweet as she can be. She is my shadow. She's rarely more than a few feet from me. She loves to go with me in the car--all I have to do is pick up my car keys and she's at the door ready to go. She's worked out an uneasy truce with the cats. They don't run anymore so they aren't any fun anyway. She had her spay operation last week and did great. Everybody at the vet's office commented on what a lover she is. We had to miss puppy class because of her surgery so we'll start again next week. The first week she was a little intimidated by the other pups. She'd only been here a couple of days and was a little unsure of herself. I'm sure next time she'll enjoy herself and play more.

She's quite the conversation starter as well. Since Carbondale is the home of the Southern Illinois University Salukis, the question I get all the time is "Oh, is it a saluki?" Of course I can tell them no, she's better! We are truly grateful to have her as a part of our family. We'll keep you updated.

Hope all is going well for you. I've been watching the pups grow on the website. They are cuties. Saw Guillermo at the Houston Eukanuba Dog Show on Animal Planet. What a handsome guy! It was great to hear your name as breeder.
